On the occasion of the 60th edition of Youth Day, held under the theme "Youth at the Heart of Great Hopes, for a United, Stable and Prosperous Cameroon," IRESCO organized the 5th edition of its "HELLO Youth" campaign for students at the Bilingual High School of Mbankomo.
On February 9, 2026, a large-scale educational forum took place at the school stadium. This awareness activity brought together approximately 1,720 participants, including students, teachers, and parents. Discussions focused primarily on the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and School and Out-of-School Violence (SOV).
Through this initiative, IRESCO aims to promote Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) to encourage young people to adopt responsible, health-protective behaviors. To reinforce the key messages delivered, awareness posters were presented and distributed to participants.
The activity continued in a lively atmosphere with a quiz competition centered on the topics discussed. Participants who gave the best answers received prizes, generating strong enthusiasm and active engagement among the youth.
At the close of the event, organizers reminded students of the importance of believing in their abilities, heeding the advice of their teachers and parents, and committing to the fight against STIs and school violence, a vital step toward building a more responsible, united, and prosperous Cameroon.
